Professional Learning

OUR LEARNING PRINCIPLE

AISA’s guiding principle is to improve student learning, well-being and safeguarding across our member schools; we often refer to this as improving student success. Whilst the key focus of learning is on students, AISA recognises that to support effective learning and to develop students as highly capable learners, we must invest in the growth of all adults at the school. School effectiveness is underpinned by having professionals who are highly skilled, continuously improving, lifelong learners.

In the context of adults in schools, our learning principle has been developed to include a developmental professional development model where adults can progress to deep understanding, mastery and the sharing of excellence with others. In this way, AISA embodies a learning community within and across our schools; one that values excellence, diversity, inclusion, and student success.

Working Together for Professional Learning

AISA recognises that educators often need support to ensure they reach their learning goals, especially when returning to school to implement new learning into practice. The AISA Professional Learning Model outlines our ongoing commitment and participation in educators’ learning journey. It also illustrates how schools can support their educators and ensure the greatest outcome for the benefit of the individual teachers, students, and the wider school community.
