Born to Kenyan and Ugandan parents, Elizabeth Imende did her early schooling in Kenya before emigrating with her family to the United States. She holds a B.A. in English from Wake Forest University and an Ed.M. in Teaching and Learning from Harvard University and has worked in the education sector for over twenty years.
Her experience spans the globe, having worked for schools and organisations in Latin America, Asia, Europe, the US, and East and Southern Africa. As the founder and director of Advancing Educators, Elizabeth has a proven track record of supporting educators and administrators in improving their practice, and developing strategic plans.
Having been a long-time professional learning facilitator for AISA, Elizabeth took up the role of AISA’s Executive Director in July 2024.
