School counselors fill a vital school function, in addition to fostering the emotional well-being of the student, faculty and parent community, school counselors also provide critical response support to child protection cases. However, school counselors are often working isolated from any ability to access clinical input which can negatively impact their confidence, perceived competence and personal well-being.
Our partnership with the Truman Group, and with generous support from the Office of Overseas Schools, enables us to offer member school counselors the opportunity to join an Online Consultation Group for the 2024-35 school year. This opportunity is limited, so express your interest early.
These groups are intended to help counselors increase their diagnostic skills and the quality of their school-based mental health intervention via a program of peer support, clinical education, and consultation.
Each group will be led by an experienced Truman Group clinician, who will facilitate meetings and provide clinical consultation.
Participants will earn a certificate from the Truman Group.
Groups will meet online for 90 minutes twice per month for the duration of the school year.
There is no cost for this program.
