Professional Learning Communities, when successfully instituted by school leaders and embraced by participants, have been shown to improve student achievement as well as teacher perception. A clear understanding from literature or practice of exactly what PLCs are and what factors have thus far facilitated their creation will enable more educators to smoothly implement their productive use.
