Each year, over 1 billion children globally suffer from some form of abuse, emotional violence, or neglect (World Health Organisation, Violence against Children).
Ending violence and abuse against children requires a systematic response, which is where schools can play a significant role in preventing and responding to harm and abuse. AISA, in partnership with the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (ICMEC) has two opportunities this semester for you and your school to be part of the solution.
On February 23-24, the International Community School of Abidjan (ICSA) is hosting a 2-day Child Protection training facilitated by ICMEC Regional Trainers. This 2-day event will offer Level 1 & 2 modules that will provide deep training for school-based child protection leaders and teams.
Understanding the impact of abuse, responding to disclosures, managing allegations, building a robust child protection policy and procedure framework and, online safety are just some of the modules covered in these offerings.
As these trainings are sponsored by A/OS they offer incredible value for all our member schools. And as these are member-only events, they provide a unique opportunity to learn and address the child protection challenges that are specific to our region.
