Schools seeking membership with AISA who are already accredited by an AISA authorised accrediting agency can immediately apply for full membership if they meet all the criteria required.

Schools who are currently seeking accreditation will need to join AISA as affiliate members until such time as their accreditation is finalised. The school then has no more than five years to complete their accreditation process at which time they will immediately move to full membership.

Below is a list of accrediting or authorising agencies recognized by AISA:

• Cognia (formally AdvancED)
• Council of International Schools (CIS)
• Authorisation for the International Baccalaureate (IB) PYP and/or MYP programme
• Education Development Trust (formerly CfBT Education Trust)
• Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA)
• New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC)
• Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)
• COBIS Accreditation and Compliance
• Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI)
• Independent Schools Association of Southern Africa (ISASA)
• Penta International: Any school that Penta International accredits under the British Overseas Schools Standards can be considered for AISA membership

The AISA Board will consider additional agencies based on the established criteria.
