Support Your School Child Protection & Well-being Programme with AISA

Every AISA member school is committed to keeping children safe and providing an environment that is nurturing, and fosters the physical, social and emotional well-being of its students.  

AISA's vision for child protection is to support schools to build and maintain a proactive environment that protects children by preventing child abuse before it occurs and ensuring its earliest possible detection, intervention and reporting. AISA has provided leadership in this area by developing resources and ongoing learning opportunities that keep our member schools up-to-date with evidence-based best practice child protection programming and resources.

AISA’s new well-being programme will assist member schools develop evidenced based initiatives that foster a whole school approach to the social and emotional well-being of the school community. Through our new Research Schools Initiative, Professional Learning offerings and online community groups, AISA will partner with member schools to develop initiatives that meet the specific needs of their school community and context.

International Centre Response Team (ICRT)

AISA is a proud partner of the International Centre  Response Team (ICRT) that has been established to assist member schools deal with complex child protection concerns. The ICRT consists of global child protection experts and will provide confidential case considerations to help ensure the safety and well-being of our students.

AISA Well-being Research Schools Initiative

The purpose of the AISA Well-being Research Schools Initiative is to establish a partnership between AISA and a group of member schools who will work collaboratively to implement and test initiatives that will improve the safety and well-being of the school community.  The aim is to develop evidenced based interventions for the AISA region that can be shared with our members as best practice exemplars that lead to real change in schools both in Africa and beyond.

AISA Counsellor's Online Supervision Groups

School counsellors fill a vital school function, supporting and nurturing the emotional well-being of the entire student, faculty and parent community. However, counsellors are often working isolated from any ability to access clinical input which can negatively impact their confidence, perceived competence and general well-being. To support our school counsellor's, AISA has established a number of Online Supervision Groups that provide much needed professional training and support.
