Social and Emotional Learning: What we are seeing and learning in AISA schools

Date: September 10, 2020

In this webinar, we will chat with two AISA school counsellors about their passion for social and emotional learning and well-being. We’ll hear about the experience of students in Ghana and Mali and how COVID-19 has impacted their lives. We’ll also hear how each school has worked proactively to support the mental health and well-being of their students and what tips they have for other schools who may be thinking of implementing an SEL program for their students.

Key Questions:

  1. What are students experiencing? What SEL needs are you seeing in your school communities?
  2. Why is SEL so important? (consider students of different ages, gender, backgrounds, etc)
  3. How can SEL support students to process their experience of COVID-19?
  4. What SEL initiatives have you used? What worked and what hasn’t?
  5. What advice would you offer to schools who may be beginning the SEL journey?
