Strategic Focus Area: AISA Innovative Schools Program:
Objective:
To foster educational innovation by creating a comprehensive and forward-thinking digital ecosystem in AISA member schools. This includes a focus on cybersecurity, technology integration, IT policy development, and research & innovation efforts. The goal is to create a supportive environment for creativity and critical thinking, modernizing traditional teaching methods to better prepare students for future challenges.
Position Overview:
The AISA Innovative Schools Programme Coordinator is responsible for the effective coordination and management of initiatives aimed at enhancing educational practices among member schools through the effective integration of educational technology in the classroom. This role involves the mobilization of resources, facilitation of innovative programs, and fostering connections within the AISA network to promote educational excellence and innovation. The incumbent will report to the AISA Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead a holistic approach to the integration of educational technology in AISA member schools through coaching and support for educators, tech coaches, and tech integration staff.
• Facilitate professional learning sessions on educational technology, blended learning, and instructional coaching to help teachers integrate technology into the classroom.
• Develop and support academic continuity (emergency preparedness) plans in AISA schools through the use of appropriate technologies.
• Drive the adoption of innovative practices and technologies across member schools to foster creative problem-solving and enhance student learning outcomes.
• Act as AISA’s point of contact for educational technology issues and discussions with vendors (AISA Associate Members) and learning partners regarding digital tools/resources for teaching and learning.
• Evaluate and promote the use of tools offered by learning partners and negotiate favorable licensing and/or purchase deals for AISA schools.
• Curate and share resources for AISA educators to support effective student learning through the use of technology within the classroom and remote settings.
• Facilitate AISA educational technology Communities of Practice (CoPs) and review the gains made by this group on an annual basis.
• Support the benchmarking process of current educational technology provision and lead an annual survey across member schools to measure growth in educational technology implementation and outcomes.
• Represent AISA in the World Digital School project (WDS) to identify technology solutions that support effective student learning within the classroom and in remote settings.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in educational program management or coordination, preferably within an international or multicultural environment.
• Strong understanding of educational technologies and innovative teaching practices.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, multicultural environment.
• Commitment to AISA’s core values and mission.
Preferred Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, International Education, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in educational technology and innovation.
• Classroom support experience using an educational technology model is a plus.
• Experience working with international schools or in cross-cultural educational settings.
• Familiarity with the educational landscape in Africa.
Remuneration and Benefits:
