Conference Day Workshop

Facilitator

  • Melissa Joseph, ELL and Wellness Teacher

American International School of Cape Town
My name is Melissa Joseph and I have been at AISCT for 15 years now. During this time I have taught 4th grade, ELL, Business Studies, and most recently Wellness/ Practical Skills for Life in high school. Over the past 4 years, I have found and worked wholeheartedly on cultivating a Mindfulness and mediation practice. Over these years, I have experienced the results personally of how these wellness techniques can in fact enhance and better our lives. It is my passion to share, expose, and encourage others to take the time to practice personal wellness.

Wellness – what is it and where do we go from here?

Do you feel you tend to put more effort into pleasing others? Do you feel you are constantly working to keep up with the busy life you lead? What if you could realize that you are the answer to finding your own happiness? In this session, we will look at what is wellness and how one can work to achieve it.

The session will start with what is wellness and what are wellness techniques. The main focus will be on personal care and then how we encourage others to develop a practice.
