This session is for teachers and curriculum leaders to review their own curriculum with the intent of evaluating how their curriculum has the essential components of standards, conceptual learnings, approaches to learning that lead to authentic assessments. This workshop will take you on a journey from an idea of learning through to the final product of how to develop a 21st century curriculum. Learn the tools and strategies to develop any curriculum through connecting standards with concepts to develop meaningful learning experiences. The aim is to also connect approaches to learning to develop conceptual assessments.

Cal Stuart, is new to the International Community School (Addis Ababa) this 2020-21 school year. Cal has over 12 years international experience having worked in Australia, Vietnam, Taiwan, Thailand, and South Korea. During this time he has held teaching roles in IB MYP Physical and Health Education, MYP Science, and IB DP Sports Science. He has taken on leadership roles from Head of Department, Athletics Director, IB MYP Curriculum Coordinator, and Middle School Vice-Principal.
Cal is also an Advanced Leader within the International Baccalaureate Organisation. This role includes MYP Consultant, MYP School Visiting Leader and an MYP & Continuum Workshop Leader. Cal has worked extensively with international schools across the Asia Pacific region consulting for Schools developing and implementing the MYP program, leading workshops for IB leaders and educators on the MYP & the continuum, and leading school IB authorisation and evaluation visits. Cal holds a Master of Education in International Education and development from the University of New England (Australia). When not at work, Cal enjoys playing golf and traveling with his family.
