This disaster management session will be divided into two parts:
Part 1: Presentation and discussion “Water is the driving force of all nature – Leonardo da Vinci”
Ian Forster shares one of his (many!) career disasters, the day when he arrived at his 1,350 student KG-18 international school with 250 staff at 6 am to find the water cut off due to a major leak, with no likelihood of a swift resolution. Ian, who was deputy director at the time but acting director on the day, will take participants stage by stage through the thinking and planning that had to start immediately. The clock was ticking!
Part 2 – Shared experiences
Participants will be invited to share their own experience of a school disaster with the group and discuss their learning and outcomes.
