This session will provide an opportunity to learn how to harness the power of learning analytics to better understand learners and their learning context in our efforts to improve and transform schools.
Every school strives to create a culture of learning shaped by well-equipped teachers and engaged students. Yet many schools have no way of measuring the impact of their education. The Learning Analytics Collaborative (LAC) is a partnership between educators, data scientists, and visionary leaders from schools around the world seeking to harness the power of learning analytics to better understand learners and their learning context in our efforts to improve and transform schools.
In this session we will have a close look at three international schools – American International School Lagos, International Community School of Addis Ababa and American International School, Abuja hear their stories and explore the past, present and future of their data literacy journeys. We will discover their challenges, follow developments and investigate solutions they have applied in order to raise the data literacy levels, resolve data management issues and apply learning analytics. We are going to identify some familiar conversations that often happen around schools and how they have used LAC to actually bring the data into the conversation before making any decisions. Where the school experienced smooth sailing, where they had to navigate choppy waters, and where they are heading.
The three AISA schools will be represented by:
Elementary School Principal
American International School, Abuja
Executive Director of Innovation and Technology
International Community School of Addis Ababa
Deputy Superintendent of Learning
American International School of Lagos
