    International School of Kenya
    Shelly Maldonado has been a school counsellor for elementary and middle school students since 2007. She has worked in the United States, South Korea, the Philippines, and is currently at the International School of Kenya. She is a member of the International School Counsellor Association task-force. In addition to school counselling, she has a Masters degree in Educational Leadership and created this diversity workshop as part of her thesis project. Shelly is passionate about opening hearts and minds and building cultural competency in herself and others and she has presented at international conferences for the past 7 years.

Exploring Hidden Biases

This session is based on Banaji and Greenwald’s book called Blindspot: Hidden Biases of Good People. We will be exploring the reason behind biases and ways that we can overcome biases. If you are looking for an interactive and hands-on approach to exploring biases, this is an excellent workshop to attend.
