Young People with Harmful Sexual Behaviour

Date: November 15, 2022

The aim of this introductory workshop is to assist practitioners in considering and identifying key issues concerning sexual behaviour amongst the pupils they support.

This 4-hour online workshop includes presentations on common issues regarding sexual behaviour and provides opportunities for group discussion and an open forum format to enable participants to raise and identify critical issues for future training.

The objective of this session is to help participants:

  • Consider the differences between ‘‘normal’ problematic or harmful sexual behaviours
  • Understand how and why some young people develop harmful sexual behaviours
  • Consider possible responses to both age-expected and concerning sexual behaviour
  • Get an opportunity to discuss and share their questions, fears and worries
  • Identify local challenges in responding to such issues and provide a forum for you to identify future training needs

Please note that this session does not relate to pre-pubescent children.
