Supporting Inquiry-based Learning with News Media Resources

Date: March 29, 2023

The goal of this short professional development session is to show Educators how news media can support and empower learners to see the value in multiple global news perspectives and become civic-minded global citizens.

In this short virtual workshop, Neil highlights how news media is an integral part of research as well as the importance of sourcing vetted and trusted news information quickly and efficiently.

News is current, relevant, and relatable to students. When students see information as applicable, they become engaged and motivated learners. Neil showcases how an online news research resource provides inquirers of every kind with valuable information on any topic imaginable.

In combining both local and global news coverage, researchers acquire broad and varied perspectives on key issues and events around the world.
