Dr. Bloodine Barthelus is the Founder and CEO of Wellness Embodied LLC, where she serves as a sought-after keynote speaker, facilitator, and thought leader in organizational wellness and adult transformation. Through her dynamic presentations and training programs, she guides organizations and individuals to prioritize human-centred approaches that cultivate self-awareness, compassionate care, and empowered action. As the former Senior Director of Practice at the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL), Dr. Barthelus architected and led multiple groundbreaking initiatives that scaled SEL implementation across school districts, regional offices of education, and partner organizations. Her innovative approach to integrating social-emotional learning with equity principles helped establish new standards for technical assistance and implementation support in the field.
Drawing from her foundational experience as a school counselor and later as Director of School Climate and Social-Emotional Learning in the District of Columbia Public Schools, Dr. Barthelus brings a unique perspective to adult development and organizational transformation. She specializes in creating professional learning experiences that catalyze deep personal growth, enabling leaders and practitioners to construct more equitable and human-centred spaces.
Dr. Barthelus holds a doctorate in education from the College of William and Mary and a master's degree in human relations from the University of Oklahoma. As a Certified Health and Wellness Coach through both the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and the Health Coach Institute, she synthesizes cutting-edge wellness research with practical application, designing holistic programs that empower adults to thrive personally and professionally.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dr. Barthelus's worldview is shaped by her rich personal background as a proud mother, daughter of Haitian immigrants, and sister in a family of seven girls. She embodies her belief that community, connection, and belonging are fundamental to collective flourishing, and actively creates spaces where these values can take root and grow.
