Constance is currently serving as the Service Learning Coordinator at the International School of Uganda.
Constance Darshea Collins is an experienced facilitator and works with school leaders and educators with a focus on areas in diversity, equity, inclusion + belonging, and justice. Her work includes but is not limited to anti-racism, anti-bias, intersectionality, addressing topics of race, gender, sexuality, cultural inclusivity, as well as leveraging the multifaceted identities of school personnel and students to create truly
multicultural schools in practice, not just in name. She personalizes her learning offerings to meet the needs of organizations by acknowledging unique cultural contexts.
Constance is currently serving as the Service Learning Coordinator at the International School of Uganda. The heart of her work as an educator rests in affirming the power of student voice and imagination while leveraging their rich cultural power to resist oppressive forces and drive change. Her work in service learning and community engagement focuses on creating authentic partnerships rooted in mutual respect, trust, and reciprocity.
Constance received her undergraduate degree in African American Studies with a concentration in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Yale University and received an M.A. in Social Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Her scholarly research and practice has been in critical pedagogy, liberatory education as well as culturally relevant and gender-responsive pedagogies. She is currently obtaining a second graduate degree in Race, Gender and Educational Leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
