Session 1: Host Nation Educator Circle – Exploring our Shared Journeys

Mon. 16 Sept. 2024
12:00 – 13:00 GMT
Online Zoom Meeting

In this session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and sharing stories on the joys, challenges, and opportunities that come with being a host nation educator in our contexts. We hope to identify common themes that resonate across our contexts to inform collective efforts for strengthening support systems for host nation educators.

Session 2: Deepening Connections – Co-Creating Support Systems for Host Nation Educators

Fri. 01 Nov. 2024
16:00 – 17:00 SAST
In-person Meeting: AISA Conference, Cape Town

This session is designed to solidify the connections made during the initial online gathering, connect with more host nation educators attending the conference and to lay the foundation for a long-term, supportive network of host nation educators.

We will continue sharing and listening to each others’ stories, and build on the insights gathered during the online and current session by developing initial actionable strategies to address the unique challenges faced by host nation educators.

Session 3: Advocacy Circle – Empowering Host Nation Educators

Mon. 02 Dec. 2024
12:00 – 13:00 GMT
Online Zoom Meeting

This session will explore further actionable strategies for supporting host nation educators developed during the previous in-person session at the AISA conference.

The session will also focus on sharing practical tools and techniques to empower host nation educators to effectively advocate for implementation of the actionable strategies to support host nation educators within their school’s contexts. We will also co-create a collective vision for the future of the affinity group to ensure members have a common understanding of how they can contribute to and benefit from this affinity space.
