This one-hour workshop is designed specifically for language teachers to gain a foundational understanding of generative AI and its relevance to language education. We will explore a variety of AI tools that support language instruction to enhance student engagement. Participants will discover effective strategies for integrating generative AI into their teaching practices, aiming to improve learning outcomes for all learners.

    Tina brings over 30 years of international experience from eight different schools across four continents, including Bolivia, Ecuador, Indonesia, Zimbabwe, Mexico, Egypt, Vietnam, and Tanzania. She is dedicated to personal and professional development, giving educators autonomy in their learning, and providing the support and resources needed to enhance their practice. Since the advent of Generative AI in the educational realm, she has kept abreast of the latest technology, enhancing her efficiency while also working with educators, parents, and students to promote the best and most ethical use of these tools. She empowers each community to leverage AI’s capacity, ensuring that everyone benefits from its transformative potential. Working with the AISA Professional Design Team, Tina has helped build professional development experiences for educators within the African context. Currently working as an educational consultant, she focuses on collaboration and bringing positive change to school culture by promoting professional risk-taking and building a supportive learning community.
