The aim of these sessions is for instructional assistants to be able to identify key vocabulary and language structures, in order to be able to employ new practices that can support the diverse learners in their classrooms.
This course will be divided into four sessions. Each session will begin with an introduction to research-based information and strategies to support vocabulary and language in the classroom, we will practice implementing this information in small group activities, and will finally work together to plan and employ new practices that can support the diverse learner’s individual classroom situations.
These sessions will also provide a space for participants to share and learn from each other in a community of like-minded learners.
