Service learning is an impactful way of embedding action and community engagement into the academic curriculum, giving students an applied way of using academic knowledge and skills in relation to local and global issues to create positive, purposeful change. The aim of this series is to offer AISA educators opportunities to learn about and deepen practices related to PreK-12 service learning.
The workshops in this series are tailored to support AISA educators in planning and leading service learning experiences with their students in all academic disciplines and across all grade levels. In each workshop, AISA Service Learning Coordinator LeeAnne Lavender will lead an interactive session that will include resources you can use right away in your classroom or school.
The first session on 12 September 2024, “Critical Mindsets for Authentic Community Engagement” will be facilitated by LeeAnne Lavender and Rebecca Gillman (Service Learning Coordinator at the International School of Dakar.
