Description

REGISTRATION FOR THIS DEEP DIVE SESSION IS NOW CLOSED

In our sessions, participants will engage with resources, activities and each other, to support school-wide SEL implementation.  One of the primary goals of this workshop is to develop an ongoing, online network of support and resources that will open a world of possibilities and practices to SEL. We will explore the essential skills of self-awareness and management, social awareness, relationship skills and decision-making to support and grow a culture of well-being,  mindful awareness and belonging for all.

In this Deep Dive, we will investigate and identify frameworks and practices to help schools working towards developing a school-wide, social-emotional learning (SEL) framework.  Together, we will take the first steps towards planning for, selecting and implementing an evidence-based, SEL programme or curriculum.

We will explore essential SEL skills and competencies and develop general criteria for the selection and successful implementation of SEL across the school community and review example SEL offerings from around the world to support our investigations with the goal of identifying frameworks that support engagement, integration and sustainability.

During this learning journey, we will also identify strategies for evaluating the impact and success of SEL implementation and also explore practices for engaging the various members of the school community in this essential journey.  Participants will leave with an abundance of curated resources, ideas and more importantly an ongoing, online professional learning community of inspiration, support and innovation.

The AISA online Deep Dives are a balanced mix of Synchronous (interactive online learning involving external expert and peer to peer collaboration) and Asynchronous (distance, self-paced and peer-to-peer learning) learning facilitated over a period of 5 weeks.
