The aim of this deep dive is to explore the role of agency for students as a way to promote curiosity and motivation.
Research tells us that students learn more when they are motivated and curious. How then can we promote learning that will promote these attributes in our students?
This deep dive will look explore the role of learner agency, inquiry and conceptual learning, how this is connected to curiosity, and how we can promote these ideas in our schools. It will examine a process for developing conceptual units that promote agency and inquiry and give participants a chance to examine conceptual units.
Included in this is the role of decision making in schools and how we can include more students input into this and how we can give students more choice in the what, when and how of their learning as a way to promote motivation.

The AISA online Deep Dives are a balanced mix of Synchronous (interactive online learning involving external expert and peer to peer collaboration) and Asynchronous (distance, self-paced and peer-to-peer learning) learning facilitated over a period of 5 weeks.
