Description

Session One: 31 January 2025

This session will serve as a mid-year check-in for BIPOC educators to reflect on our unique experiences in international schools, celebrate our achievements, and realign our goals for the remainder of the year. We will focus on navigating the recruiting process, exploring current and future roles, and fostering a supportive network to uplift and empower one another.

Session Two: 28 February 2025

This session will focus on addressing identity-based harm and fostering resilience as BIPOC educators in international schools. It will provide opportunities for us to share practical strategies for navigating microaggressions and systemic biases within predominantly non-BIPOC environments. We will share our experiences with one another and discuss responses to marginalization and explore ways we can foster personal strength and a sense of belonging.

Session Three: 04 April 2025

In this session, we will focus on shaping the future of BIPOC representation and inclusion in international schools through actionable planning and skill-building. This session will include collective goal-setting to identify ways we can influence meaningful change in our schools, both individually and as a community. We will explore leadership pathways and mentorship opportunities to support the professional growth of BIPOC educators. Additionally, we will discuss strategies for effective advocacy around equity and inclusion in school policies, curriculum, and culture.
