Description

You are invited to join the second annual professional learning institute designed by and for AD’s and aspiring AD’s in international schools.

The institute will focus on two training modules created and accredited by the US National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA). Participants will gain NIAAA certification and credits from this AISA Institute. The modules are core to the role of the Athletic Director in any international school:

LTC 903: Enhancing Organizational Management and Effectiveness in International School Athletic Programs

This module is designed to help athletic directors establish the foundation for their programs. It covers the origins of athletic administration, ethical codes, and explores the concept of “educational athletics.” Participants will examine the role of the athletic administrator, and the importance of a school philosophy, and engage in workshops to refine their own philosophies. Key topics include the roles of athletic administrators, coaches, and the practical application of these philosophies, all covered in depth.

LTC 904: Child Protection Overview for the International School Athletic Administrator

This module covers liability, negligence, and risk management in sports for athletic administrators. It introduces best practices for athletic administrators, coaches, trainers, and other athletic staff using case studies and guided discussions. Participants will learn about effective risk management strategies and proper documentation procedures. Real-life scenarios will be explored, focusing on the duties and standards of care schools must follow to ensure child protection.

As a result of participating at this institute, attendees can expect to:

  • To gain professional knowledge, expertise and best practices
  • To be better prepared to handle today’s biggest challenges in the profession
  • To earn respect and credibility in your field
  • To become a more efficient and effective athletic administrator
  • To create the best possible experience for your student-athletes
  • To set a good example in your athletic department for prioritizing professional development
