In times of crisis, investments are cut. CPD is usually the first to go, the most severely severed, and the last to return. The Coronavirus Covid-19 crisis is no exception: this latest existential shock has tightened the world’s developmental budgets. This latest fiscal pause provides leaders with an opportunity to stop, rethink and reimagine processes, systems, structures, and strategies relating to their operations. Given what we know about the global talent shortage, there has never been a more critical time to invest in early careers and ensure they are equipped with sufficient development opportunities and expertise to advance and realise their potential. One sector in which this is acutely observable is education.
