Invitation to Nominate: 2024 AISA Board Elections

POSTED: March 1, 2024Category: GeneralBY: digitial

In alignment with AISA’s commitment to adapt and evolve to meet the diverse needs of our membership, we are thrilled to announce the opening for self-nominations for the AISA Board for the 2024/25 school year. A landmark decision by our Board and Membership in late 2022 introduced a Hybrid Board Model, incorporating 5 elected members, who are heads of AISA Full Member schools, alongside 4 appointed members. These appointed members are chosen for their unique expertise and perspectives from a broad range of schools and organizations, including those beyond our current membership. This innovative approach is designed to broaden the diversity of our Board, ensuring we represent the rich tapestry of our community.

Next year, we will have four Board positions available: two will be elected, and notably, two will be appointed. This continues to open a pathway for a wider array of contributors from within our community to engage with AISA’s governance, offering their distinctive skills and experiences to guide our strategic direction, fiduciary oversight, and generative governance.

Your Potential Impact:

  • Fiduciary Oversight: Play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and responsible decision-making within AISA
  • Strategic Planning: Help chart the course for AISA’s future, contributing to our high-level strategic initiatives
  • Generative Governance: Inject creativity into our governance processes, helping AISA to innovate and fulfill its mission.

We Seek Individuals Who Can:

  • Participate in both in-person and virtual Board Meetings
  • Join the AISA Board Retreat and contribute to committee work
  • Engage in meaningful online discussions and preparatory work for meetings
  • Offer their expertise to one of our key sub-committees: Governance and Continuity, Membership, and Finance

How to Apply:

To put yourself forward, please fill out the 2024 AISA Board Self-Nomination Form by March 15th, 2024. Part of the nomination process includes submitting a brief video introduction, with more details to follow upon your application.

This is an invitation to you, our valued community members, to bring your vision, leadership, and expertise to the forefront of AISA’s mission. Whether you are from a Full Member school, an associate organization, or a broader educational community, if you have a passion for advancing international education in Africa and believe in the power of diverse, strategic, and innovative governance, we warmly encourage you to apply for one of our appointed positions.
