INTRODUCING AISA’S INCLUSION WORKSHOP SERIES FOR SCHOOL LEADERS

POSTED: October 17, 2024Category: GeneralBY: Keegan Herbst

As part of AISA’s commitment to child protection, wellbeing, and belonging, we are working toward eradicating inequality, injustice, and exclusion in African international schools. This includes supporting staff and students as they co-create new systems and structures.

Spearheading the Work Towards More Inclusive School Communities is an impactful three-part online workshop series that will prepare head teachers, school leaders, leaders of special education and inclusion, and school counsellors to feel confident and clear about their path to leading their schools to be more inclusive communities.

The learning objectives include:

  • Define personal and institutional values about inclusion.
  • Assess current practices for strengths and improvements.
  • Develop strategic plans with specific goals and metrics.
  • Effective communication to advocate for inclusion.
  • Build support networks to shift mindsets and engage the community.

Workshop facilitator Lauren Jones is an educational consultant with a background in school leadership, programme development, trauma-informed practices, behaviour management, inclusive system development and implementation, and alternative programming.
By the end of the series, participants will have renewed their vision for inclusion, gained practical tools for implementation, and established a network for ongoing support and collaboration. Register here.
