The AISA Counsellors Institute, facilitated by the Truman Group, will focus on three main areas, all of which are designed to increase the clinical skills and sophistication in AISA counsellors, regardless of their previous training and theoretical orientation.
KEY AUDIENCE: School Counsellors
This institute will be run in partnership with the Truman Group, which provides psychological counseling to individuals and couples for a broad range of issues, including anxiety and depression, trauma, grief and loss, substance abuse, relationship issues, life transitions, and anger and stress management.
As a result of attending this learning institute, participants can expect to:
- Increase their clinical skills and sophistication in general and around the specific clinical themes such as response to trauma, self-harm and social isolation.
- Learn more effective strategies to intervene with their students when they present with need.
- Learn how to make better use of supervision and get the most from peer-to-peer interactions.
