Venture for All®, a global initiative for talented students & professionals, seeks to develop the entrepreneurial mindset needed to succeed in the classroom or business world.
Columbia Business School’s Venture for All® is a global initiative for talented students and professionals who seek to develop the entrepreneurial mindset needed to succeed in the classroom or business world. Since 2011, we have been thoughtfully designing Venture for All® classes to guide the students through the steps necessary to create, develop, and launch innovative programs, products, and ventures. Throughout the interactive learning experience, the students enhance their capacity to successfully apply entrepreneurial thinking and leadership principles, helping them stand out from the crowd as they innovate and lead in any academic or professional environment.
The global program was created and founded by Dr Jack McGourty Founder VFA and Director of entrepreneurship, Columbia Business School, NY. High School Students learn the process of new venture creation, which is modelled on Columbia’s MBA course, Launch Your startup, an interactive project based program to foster entrepreneurship and innovation. The program provides participants with an intensive, “hands-on” course focusing on the creation, evaluation, development, and launch readiness of a new business or social venture. Key issues are addressed in a fashion highly consistent with other formal venture planning processes including: business model development, customer discovery, product-market validation, in-depth industry and market analysis, product or service innovation, brand development and go-to-market strategies, team selection & management, profit models, financing, and legal considerations.
More importantly, they learn to develop and entrepreneurial mindset to apply to life experiences or a startup. They are eligible for membership to Columbia’s VFA club to meet like-minded people and exchange ideas.
Students earn a certificate, possible leadership TA internship, letter of recommendation [merit based] which is uploaded to the college common application.
Our student programs are designed to build on your existing strengths to solve important problems through entrepreneurial thinking and action. Each class blends contemporary theory and practice in areas of design, entrepreneurship, innovation, and team leadership. In a collaborative setting with peers, you will work on real problems that lead to business and/or social enterprise creation and launch.
The Association of International Schools in Africa is dedicated to serving its members throughout Africa during this challenging time. Please let us know if you require additional or specific information, resources and or support, and we will endeavour to assist you as soon as possible.
