An Invitation to Present at the Wellbeing for All Symposium

POSTED: May 16, 2024Category: GeneralBY: Steve

Wellbeing for All has emerged as a key priority area for AISA. At the 2024 AISA Conference in Cape Town, we want to hear from member schools about how you implement child protection, wellbeing, social & emotional learning (SEL), student support and DEIJ initiatives to achieve positive change for students and staff in your school.

For the first time, AISA is introducing a one-day Wellbeing for All Symposium as a pre-conference. This single-day gathering on 31st October 2024 is for all school leaders and learners committed to championing Wellbeing for All. We are inviting schools to spotlight initiatives that have positively impacted your school community. This one-day event will thus showcase innovative practices and insights that can serve as a source of inspiration for all member schools in Africa.

Any AISA school can apply to lead a one-hour workshop sharing ideas and insights that may cover one or more of the following areas:

  1. DEIJ/Belonging: eg. showcase how your school has used the DEIJ Guide to foster greater inclusion and belonging
  2. Child Protection – eg. highlight new or revised policies, an expanded programme that includes identity-based harm, student voice or community engagement
  3. Student SEL: eg. new SEL curriculum, or student mental health and wellbeing initiative
  4. Staff Wellbeing programme
  5. Student Support: eg. transforming your student support programme from a medical model to a social inclusion model

If you would like to apply for your school to lead a workshop in the AISA Wellbeing for All Symposium, please complete this application form. You will need to create log-in details and a facilitator profile. Next, add a new submission with the submission group “AISA School Member” and submission subgroup “2. Wellbeing for All Symposium Workshop”. Facilitators will not receive a fee, however, AISA will offer each presenting school two free tickets to the symposium.
