AOS SUPPORTED PROFESSIONAL LEARNING EVENTS

The Office of Overseas Schools (AOS) is a delighted to announce the new AERO brochure for 2018-19. The brochure  indicates the assistance available to AISA schools for implementing an American Standards bases curriculum . David Chojnacki is the AERO Director and is available to assist the schools in finding resources to meet the school's needs. For more information visit the AERO Website which includes:

  • 2018 AERO World Language Framework aligned with ACTFL standards
  • 2018 AERO World Language Framework for 2, 4, and 6 foreign language programmes
  • Brochures for the math specialist (K-5) and Math Fellows (6-12) institutes

AOS has sponsored  various staff development opportunities for summer 2019. The application  are available from January 7th, 2019. The first Invitational Leadership Seminar of Overseas Principals (LSOP) is designed to spark intercultural inquiry into leadership concepts and behaviours. We hope to inspire all American international school principals towards leading overseas schools in the future.

Leadership Seminar for Overseas Principals (LSOP)

Sponsored by the United States Department of State, Office of Overseas Schools and the Association for the Advancement of International Schools (AAIE), (in Washington D.C. on June 25-28, 2019) will set into place a vision of leadership, critical perspectives and networking with leaders who inspire diverse communities of learners. The seminar is designed to blend the experiences of strong leaders from overseas independent schools with new thinking on leadership as represented in academic research and private sector practice.

An invitational three-day seminar to explore concepts, practices, and processes of executive leadership. All local costs supported.

Summer Institute for International College Admissions

A four-day College Board information/training institute specifically for college guidance counselors in American/international schools to be held at New York University, New York, NY. Fee supported. Scholarships available for A/OS-assisted schools.

  • New Counselor Strand: This four-day training will cover the fundamentals of university advising and guide new counselors through key components of the admission process.

  • Experienced Counselor Strand: This four-day training will explore ways to refine an existing college counseling program and provide experienced counselors with a forum to discuss timely issues with peers and seasoned admission officers.
